HRC Fuels technology will be discussed in an AFPM Webinar entitled “Big Changes In The U.S. Octane Market” on Mon, Sep 9, 2024, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT.

The webinar will explore the high cost of incremental octane, which is driven by a confluence of Environmental changes and refining strategies.  HRC Fuels technology will be presented as a logical alternative to meet the environmental standards, while reducing octane costs.  The webinar will highlight the long term evolution of the US gasoline supply as refiners responded to regulatory changes over the decades.

HRC Fuels Defines simple formulae for Gasolines with up to 65 % renewables using Renewable Naphtha

HRC Fuels is working with several renewable fuel producers to define the highest value use for renewable naphtha – a byproduct of SAF and renewable diesel.  Using HRC Fuels technology, we have developed recipes for renewable gasoline with up to 65 % renewables.  These simple recipes are very profitable and can be scaled up as producers or blenders ramp up acquisition of cheap renewable naphtha.

President Biden and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm announced seven regional clean hydrogen hubs selected to receive $7 billion in funding to accelerate the use of low-cost, green hydrogen.

A reliable, green hydrogen supply is a key component of refinery decarbonization plans.  With this supply in place, refineries can begin to reduce their reliance on reformer hydrogen and increase the use of HRC Fuels technology to make paraffinic gasoline.   These changes reduce refinery Scope 2 and Scope 3 CO2 emissions.

New Consulting contract with World Energy – California renewable fuels producer

HRC Fuels signed a consulting agreement with World Energy Supply (a subsidiary of Alt Air Paramount, LLC).;  HRC Fuels will provide consulting work to develop: Renewable naphtha blending recipes tailored to World Energy Strategies and recipes which allow World Energy to purchase renewable naphtha to lever the blending and marketing capacities of their existing plant.

First commercial production of HRC Gasoline in US

Using HRC technology, this refiner has reconfigured their gasoline blending operations to create an 81 octane HRC gasoline CBOB, which blends to 87 octane when 10 % ethanol is added.  This is the first step of moving toward full HRC gasoline production.  It involved no capital investment by taking advantage of Ethanol Blending Synergy to increase refinery profitability.
