US Patent 10,883,061 B2 “Aviation Gasoline Compositions” issued to Calumet Industries
This patent provides a replacement for conventional aviation gasoline, which uses TEL (a highly toxic lead based additive). The formulation includes aromatic amines, a blend of paraffinic hydrocarbons and isobutanol as a co-solvent. The fuel meets all current aviation gasoline specifications, without using TEL. US EPA is contemplating a total ban on TEL in aviation gasoline. John Burger (HRC Fuels founder) is named as an inventor and was consulting with Calumet when John and the team created the formulation.
