HRC TECHNOLOGY CAN FACILITATE HIGHER LEVELS OF RENEWABLE NAPHTHA IN GASOLINE.
Renewable naphthas are paraffinic Hydrogen Rich Content fuels. When incorporated into a refinery feed slate using HRC technology, the isomerization processes upgrade the octane in much of the renewable naphtha so that it can become part of the finished gasoline pool.
This is an ongoing development area for HRC Fuels. It has the potential to provide a simple economically attractive outlet for renewable naphtha as a blend stock into automotive gasoline. An example of this appears in Case 4 of the Refining Case Study. Since the naphtha is renewable, CO2 Scope Three emissions for this feedstock is zero.
